On Thursday 24th March, the Sefton BIG choices event coordinated by Jobcentre Plus and various other partner organisations was held at the Investment Centre in Bootle. The event, sponsored by Antrec, was designed to give the unemployed advice, support and guidance in terms of getting back into work or seeking help to find employment.
Over 300 jobseekers attended the event along with 28 partner companies, each partner had a stand and the opportunity to engage with those looking for training, employment or general advice. Companies such as Antrec, Hugh Baird, 3tc, Everton in the Community, DELTA Taxis, Premier Inn, Crosby Training, Sefton@Work, Alternative Futures, Remploy, Shaw Trust, Prince’s Trust amongst many more.
Each attendee was offered tea/coffee and food on arrival, which gave the visitors a warm welcome to the event. Attendees were asked to fill in evaluation sheets on how useful they felt the event was, at the end of the day a prize draw was held with each winner contacted on the same evening. Prizes on offer included vouchers, ipads and a laptop donated by Hugh Baird, Antrec and Crosby Training respectively.
Here at Antrec we would like to thank everyone for all the hard work that was put into the organisation of the event by each of the partner organisations that were involved.
Also, a big thank you to each and every jobseeker that attended the day. Without you the event would not have been the success it was, we hope you each took something away with you that will help you gain employment in the near future.
