Company Name: Autism Initiatives
Which training route did the learner take? Adult Social Care
Back in April I completed the taxi qualification with Antrec and I really enjoyed my 2 weeks training but due to personal reasons this wasn’t an appropriate career for me.
Recently I got back in touch with Antrec and enquired about the Adult Social Care course that they run with the view of becoming a Support Worker. Just because you have already done one training course with Antrec does not mean that you cannot come back and gain other qualifications. There are plenty of transferable skills which I was able to bring over from my taxi qualification to the Adult Social Care course such as the Service Enterprise Awareness Training (SEAT) and the Visual Awareness training. On this course I also took further training looking into and becoming aware of the challenges of safeguarding, I found this very interesting.
Throughout the training course Antrec arrange for potential employers to come in and meet the class to give a bit more information about the company and the job roles that they have on offer. On my course a company called Autism Initiatives came in to speak with the class, I found what roles they had on offer very interesting.
Upon successful completion of the Adult Social Care training I am looking to gain employment with Autism Initiatives as a Support Worker. I am planning on gaining my taxi badge using the taxi qualification as my backup option should I ever need it.
