Kieran Edwards #GoodNewsStory

Kieran Edwards - Antrec Taxi BTEC Employability - Good news storyOur latest good news story focuses on a learner who recently completed our Taxi BTEC course.

Kieran Edwards started our Taxi BTEC Employability course with the hope of passing the course and getting the qualification needed to become a self employed private hire taxi driver.

Our Taxi BTEC training course is open to those aged 19+, unemployed, in receipt of benefits and held a driving license for at least 2 years. The course is government funded so there are no upfront costs to join the course. We help fund the cost of completing your qualification, purchase of your taxi badge, DBS application and medical costs. We also work in partnership with Delta Taxis, Delta attend days on the course to explain how you get started in the industry and also helps to get you inducted and on the road as part of their fleet.

Despite wanting to pass the course, Kieran worried at each stage of the course as he was so desperate to pass the course and get on the taxis as soon as possible. Annmarie, part of our admin team, did her best to keep Kieran calm and positive throughout each stage of training. Annmarie offered Kieran her full support whilst on course, making sure Kieran fully engaged in the classroom, completed paperwork an various other tasks he had to do throughout training.

Kieran successfully passed the course, gained his VRQ qualification and successfully applied an received his taxi badge from Sefton. Annmarie thinks Kieran will be an excellent taxi driver and that he has the right attitude and dedication to make a good living within the taxi industry. We want to wish Kieran a big well done and the best of luck for your future on the road!
