Our latest good news story is Phillip Armstrong. At the end of last year he took part in our 2 week Taxi Employability training to become a private hire taxi driver and recently received his taxi badge.
Phillip started the 2 week Taxi Employability course in December 2016 with the determination of getting his taxi badge. Over the past few months Phillip has approached many different barriers and hiccups which has delayed the process of getting his badge.
However as the new year began, Phillip really focused on getting his taxi badge. Despite the delays and barriers that have been put in front of him, Phillip has continued to be positive around himself and others, keeping focused and determined. When speaking to Phillip’s Caseload Manager, Nikki McCarthy-Obey, she noted that “he was a pleasure to be around… brought great positivity to others, and remained positive throughout his time with Antrec”.
On 12th April 2017, Phillip was rewarded for all his hard work and efforts by officially receiving his Sefton Council taxi badge which made him licensed to get on the road and start his career as a private hire taxi driver.
