This 6 day course includes a BTEC Level 2 Introduction to the Role of Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver and Level 1 Customer Service.
The course covers units in Health and Safety, Road Safety, Professional Customer Service, Vehicle Maintenance and Safety Inspections, The Regulatory Framework, Services for Passengers Who Require Assistance, Routes and Fares, Transporting of Parcels, Luggage and Other Items, Transporting of Children and Young People.
Eligible learners (those who are currently unemployed and in receipt of benefits) benefit from a maximum amount of funding of £165 which is released in stages and can be used for:
Learners will be supported to apply for positions with the Borough Council of their choice and the Taxi Company of their choice (we do currently work in partnership with Delta Taxis so can guarantee you a place on their fleet), with direct support from a designated Caseload Manager for a further 13 weeks’ post-course.
We ask that referrals have a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in the sector. Learners must also reach a minimum of Entry 3 for both Literacy and Numeracy, which will be assessed pre-course.
